I just finished reading “Equal Time for Pogo” for the second time. It’s not a bad Pogo book, but it’s not the best. The Spiro Agnew and Hubert Humphrey caricatures are a little dated, but it’s still enjoyable. A lot of those caricatures could easily be applied today though.
Aside from the political satire, the book has some absolutely wonderful gags, like a series where Albert and Howland think a blizzard has come to their swamp in July. Another good series describes the “Ig Noble Peace Prize.”
The art, as usual, is beautiful. The extra panels included in the book add a little to the continuity. All and all, it’s as good as the other books.
